Chapter 17: The Dream of the Animals
Book of the Watchers
And Enoch dreamed again, and behold, the beasts of the field were given dominion over the fowls of the air and the fish of the sea.
But the sons of men were the servants and slaves of the beasts.
And the beasts did violence to the sons of men, and fed upon their flesh.
But the righteous called upon the Lord, and He sent forth the archangels to deliver them.
And the archangels came down with swords of fire, and smote the beasts, and set the righteous free.
And the righteous arose and sang praises to the Holy One.
And the vision faded, and Enoch understood that it was a representation of the last days.
And he said unto his people: 'Behold, the end of all things is nigh at hand. Keep ye the commandments of God, and ye shall be delivered.'
And the righteous heard and kept the commandments, but the wicked hearkened not.
And in that day when the Lord comes, the righteous shall be exalted, and the wicked shall be ashamed and confounded.
