Chapter 88: The Vision of the Seventy Shepherds
Dream Visions
88:1
And I saw seventy shepherds appointed, and they had charge over the flocks of sheep.
88:2
And the shepherds led the sheep astray, and caused them to go down into the abyss.
88:3
And I saw that the sheep were smitten with great plagues, and they cried out saying: 'Woe unto us, for our shepherds have led us astray!'
88:4
And then there came other shepherds, who were righteous, and they gathered the sheep together.
88:5
And the righteous shepherds led the sheep into green pastures, and the sheep were comforted.
88:6
And I understood that the shepherds represented the leaders of men, and that the righteous should lead the people into righteousness.
