Chapter 13: The Vision of the Waters and the Firmament

And Enoch saw a great luminosity in the east, and he understood that the sun was about to rise.

And he went forth to meet the sun, and saw the gates through which the sun enters at his rising.

And the sun was brighter than Enoch had ever seen, and his light filled all the east with glory.

And Enoch went onward, and saw the angel Raphael, who was standing at the gate of the rising sun.

And Raphael said unto him: 'Enoch, thou art blessed among men, for thou hast been shown the mysteries of heaven and earth.'

'And now behold, the sun riseth, and the moon setteth, and the stars fulfill their appointed courses.'

'All the works of God are righteous and holy, and all the creatures of the earth praise His name.'

'Go now, and tell thy people of the wonders of God, and of the judgment which shall come upon the earth.'

'And keep the commandments of the Lord, and thou shalt have eternal life.'

And Enoch was comforted, and he knew that he had found favor with the Holy One.
