Chapter 24: The Fragrant Tree and the Garden of Righteousness

And from thence I went to the place of the righteous, and I saw a tree more beautiful than any I had seen before, whose fragrance was exceedingly sweet.
And the angel Michael showed it unto me, saying: 'This is the tree of life, which giveth forth food unto all the living.'

And its leaves are fair, and its fruit is like the cluster of the date palm. And the fragrance thereof spreads into every place.
'In the day of the great judgment, the righteous shall eat of this tree and be filled with righteousness, and the wicked shall be kept far from its fruit.'
And I saw another tree beside it, and it too was exceeding fair, and its branches were green and luxuriant.
And the angel said: 'This tree also shall be food for the righteous in the day of resurrection.'
And these two trees are planted in the garden of righteousness, and they shall endure until the last day.
